Workshop: AI and Public Records Laws

This presentation and workshop will build upon our kickoff session with a deep dive into investigative strategies. After an initial presentation by Khari Johnson (Calmatters), David Snyder (Executive Director, First Amendment Coalition) will lead a specialized training on filing Public Records Act requests. Participants will learn how to use the CA PRA to obtain information about AI systems used by the state. By the end of this workshop, we will begin filing official requests to populate the AI use case registry envisioned during the kickoff.
